We successfully conducted our first workshop 'AutoSPARK' 2015,  on 'Automobile and its latest technologies' in our college under the banner of MES. as it was first of its kind in our society that a workshop had been organised and we had some sorts of problem which we (Student Body) faced and in future we will try to sort out those problems. Feedback from the students has been analyzed and we will take action to tackle those problems. All the materials related to workshop will be available soon on our website. Overall this workshop was a success and it was not last. More workshops (3/semester) will be organised in this society, like workshop on CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics), Design and 3D printing, and many more will come in future.

A Note from the Principal

One of the founding departments of Asansol Engineering College, the Mechanical Engineering Department played a leading role in evolving an ' Engineering Science' based curriculum, and served as a role model for many academic institutes in the country. For the last fifteen years, interaction with industry and the emphasis on applied engineering has increased. Faculties of the Department are highly qualified and adapt in their respective subjects who cater the need for quality education to the students. Industry visits, well equipped workshops and labs are helping the students to get through in the campus interview. All most percent students are getting employment in multinational company as well as core sectors of the country. Consultancy services are provided to the ancillary industries located in and around Asasol, Durgapur industrial area.

Special attention is given to fetch new projects from Railways,, IISCO and from other public and private entrepreneurs. We are planning to set up non-conventional (Solar Cell) in the roof of Mechanical Engineering Department and new building for green energy project. I, also wish all the best to the department for their upcoming Mechanical Engineering Society.

1,2,3... Let's Start!

Okay, so finally the budding Mechanical Engineers of AEC have decided to work with something, that will not only help them to grow as an ENGINEER but also give them an opportunity to pursue their interest. Brilliant!!! The kind of enthusiasm you all have shown this time is unmatched and I strongly believe, proper execution of your plans will take you a long way. Yes, that "proper execution" part is the most important segment of this whole idea. Plans without execution is of no use. So, make sure you burn enough calories (at the right places) to make this happen. All these activities will take you through the elements, which are extremely essential to build strong technical and managerial skills. I wish you all the very best and promise my support in all your endeavors.

TO BEGIN WITH

This society is formed under the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Asansol Engineering College. The aim of this society is to learn, share and promote knowledge about the topics we learn in our class. This is a platform where students can collaborate with each other and learn and develop new ideas. This will not only help in better understanding of the subjects but also build up confidence to work in a team. We are planning to organize various workshops and seminars throughout the semesters. Note that this society is not just constrained within Mechanical Engineering Department, interested students from other departments are also free to share and promote their ideas with us.

We are going to organize a briefing event for the society, the details of which shall be posted very soon. So stay tuned.
